About Us
Growing up in Maine I've had the pleasure of viewing the remains of Maine Central and Boston & Maine in the form of Guilford Rail System, now Pan Am Railways. Abandon right of ways dotting the landscape from the coast to the mountains. Maine is rich in Railroading History, and it's this history that has inspired my countless creations.
It became apparent to me that having a home dedicated to the CBVR was probably going to be the best course of action moving forward. I needed to make connections that benefitted me and the route that may not benefit the group I'm with. So I set out to build that home, and well here we are today. I will not have to bog down a group with the slow progress that is my route and am able to work at my own pace. Set my own rules and deadlines. And hopefully bring on people who are just looking for a home for their content as well!

Well who is DowneastTrainz? Well first let me talk a little about myself (since I'm usually so good at doing that). My name is Jayden, some of you may know me better as Boeingfan727, or The Bud Knight. I am deeply passionate about all forms of transportation, specifically aircraft. I am a student pilot and a former Ramp Agent for Southwest Airlines. I have been heavily involved with the aviation community from my early teenage years and aspire to be an airline pilot. But despite having a large and deep passion for aviation, railroading has always had a firm place in my heart. I can be find most of the time online in group chats, or out and about driving the back roads looking for adventure. For those who know me well, I'm crazy about my cat Tobias (Tobi), Norway, Metallica and my car, a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Oh and pepsi. Can't be seen without one. I am also proud of where I came from!
Within Trainz though I go back to about 2015. My senior year of high school I picked up TANE on sale through steam, and thus started my long journey to today! Over that course I've tried to recreate scenes of places I am familiar with, or have been heavily into creating fictional places, including an entire fictional country. But the pride of my work has been the CBVR or Carrabassett Valley Railroad. The CBVR came about after I moved to St. Louis and was longing to see my home once again. The best way to cope was to surround yourself with images and thoughts of home, and surround I did. After starting on the Trainz Forums sharing images of the CBVR I was introduced to my now best friend Sean (Southern1581). From there he brought me onboard with him over at NARM. Later we would both join a new project called The Backshops. Much time has passed and my little handbuilt route stretching 50 miles has morhped into a 200+ mile behemoth.
Personally I'm happy with this new venture, and look forward to the endless possibilities that await me within this community. As stated I hope this group can be a home for some people who maybe never were accepted into a bigger group, or maybe just are looking to get their start. Like Maine itself we welcome all! A big thanks to those who have helped to get me here or just supported me with the idea of starting my own group. Hope to have some great content for you all to enjoy soon!
